Known as the "Huckleberry Capital of Montana", Trout Creek is a short distance from the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness in Sanders County, Montana. Trout Creek gained it's Huckleberry notoriety by the state legislature in 1981.
Trout Creek is along the shores of the 35-mile long Noxon Rapids Reservoir of the Clark Fork River. If you visit during the summer months you will find a flurry of activity as outdoor enthusiasts enjoy boating, ATVs, fishing tournaments, and much more. The wilderness area boasts some of the best sightseeing, camping, mountain biking, hunting, and fishing you will find in the state.
Each year this charming community hosts its annual Huckleberry Festival, attracting visitors from around the region to celebrate the coveted purple berry.
Wintertime offers groomed snowmobile trails and a popular event is the annual Snowmobile Poker Run, starting and ending in Trout Creek. It is typically a two-day event with a short ride the first day and the second day features a poker run and hog roast BBQ.
