Jessica Faye Jones began her romance with Montana in the 7th grade due to a school research project in her hometown of Brownsville, Tennessee. Receiving brochures and information from all parts of Montana, she dreamed of the wide open spaces that were a sharp contrast from the West Tennessee Mississippi delta farmlands, where she lived as a sharecropper's daughter, chopping and picking cotton until high school. Her dream became a reality in 1986 when her husband and four children moved to Lewistown, Montana.

In addition to being a mom to four kids, all graduating from Fergus High School in Lewistown, she has been a foster mom in residential childcare to over 100 court-placed kids, a paraprofessional in the Lewistown school district in Speech and Language, a Life and Health insurance agent and Real Estate Realtor and Broker.

Education became a priority due to spending many weeks every fall in the cotton fields instead of school and her parent's emphasis. She had an AA in English but enrolled again in college later in life. At age 57, she received her BS in Management Communication, then her MA in Religious Studies, and recently graduated with her Ph.D. in Biblical Studies, Old Testament.

She has an enduring love of adventure. She and her husband lived as missionaries in Tanzania, East Africa, where one of their children was born, and they visited many countries as part of their educational pursuits. Her family loves camping and hiking, and they have worn out their first six-person backpacking tent she made from a kit. At 60, she and her youngest daughter hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim; she and her husband hiked Longs Peak in Colorado, and they and their kids hiked other mountain ranges and trails in Colorado, Oregon, and Montana.
